Etiquette in the Theatre
If you’ve never been to the theater for a ballet, you may feel out of place. Don’t be afraid and most of all enjoy the visual beauty of the art. The Nutcracker is an easy starter ballet and it tells a story of a Christmas party featuring a nutcracker toy that comes to life. The second act takes you into a dream world where the main character Clara, visits a land of sweets to watch multiple themed dances. A lot of variation, and the classical music of Tchaikovsky will keep you interested in this timeless ballet.
A few things to remember while in the theatre
- Arrive 15 minutes early to find your seat, so you aren’t a distraction walking in late.
- Clap once a dancer pulls off a “trick” of multiple turns or a stunning lift.
- Dress up in dresses and formal wear, or semi formal. At the very least no jeans.
- Turn of your cell phone.
- No flash photography, as it may be dangerous for the dancers.
Affordable Formal Attire
We carry infant to young adult holiday attire, which is lining our racks and ready to purchase. When looking for something to wear, don’t forget to grab a jacket to keep warm.
With Christmas just weeks away, get your little dancer some new dance attire. After seeing the talented dancers perform the Nutcracker, they may be inspired and want some new gear for class. We’ve got leotards, shoes, and hair accessories for your next class.
